Family.

I have lot of family. A son and a husband, 6 brothers, 3 sisters, 28 nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters in law, aunts, uncles, cousins aplenty, and a couple of sets of parents…

People ask why I only had one child. Truth is I didn’t get any say in the matter. The universe took control in that department. But my son has more than enough family. I wish he’d had some siblings but hey, what can you do?

I’m at a family wedding on Lombok right now and it’s lovely to be laughing and talking with family who we rarely see. The last time my husband was with his brothers was his dad’s funeral so how lovely to see him having a drink and laughing with them last night.

Family is our first opportunity to work through our stuff. There are So many messy moments that bring opportunities to grow and learn but they’re disguised as petty arguments or old triggers that repeatedly crop up begging to be healed.

And sometimes it’s just fun and relaxing.
