something to ponder

Something profound bubbled to the surface in my journaling this morning and it’s been bouncing around in my head ever since.

Did you know there are 7.7 billion people alive right now on this planet?

Give or take a few of course.

It’s amazing. And scary. And trippy. 7.7 billion people just going about their daily lives.

Where did they all come from? If the first law of Thermodynamics, (apparently also known as Law of Conservation of Energy), states that energy cannot be created or destroyed in an isolated system. We live in an isolated system…so think about the energy that had to be consumed and transformed to produce all those people.

And if you think that no matter what your beliefs or understanding about how we all came to be here, at some stage there was only a few of us rambling around on this blue/green rock in space. Something to think about tonight as you try to fall asleep.
