If you could be a character from a book or film, who would you be? Why?
When I wrote , my second novel , Alia Henry and the Ghost Writer I wasn’t aware how much I desperately wanted to be like my sassy main character.
She’s Fleabag without the self-hate. She’s Lizzie Bennett without the angst. She’s Bridget Jones without the self deprecation. Alia is comfortable in her skin but aware of all her flaws.
(But if I had to choose a character someone else had written I’d like to be Hermione Grainger. I’d use that Time Turner daily and get in loads of trouble for using my wand out of school.)
