Creative Days with Christine Betts

If you could have something named after you, what would it be?

It’s my dream that everyone in the world has the opportunity to flex their creativity at least once a month if not every day/week.

Creativity comes in so many forms, and it is my firm belief that if you are breathing, you are creative.

Some of us write, some of us paint, draw, and sculpt. Some of us make food. Some of us make movies, take photos, mould, carve and build. We make music with instruments or our voices. We make things with textiles we make things with found objects We weave. We tell stories.

So yes, if I could have one thing named after me, it would be the Christine Betts creative day and we would all get out our supplies and make things and be joyful.

Oh, and on a sidenote, remember that gathering supplies is a creative act in itself. I’ve always said buying paint and pencils and paper and charcoal is a completely different hobby from my art making.

Don’t even get me started on buying books.

These things don’t need to cost money though. Yesterday I took a very long walk and snapped photos as I went, including the feature image of seagull tracks in the sand and the one below of a leaf that caught my eye.

Leaf. Found at Currumbin Alley, March 29, 2024
