Each and every day we need to touch the book, write the poem – or even just one word on the end, draw our child while she eats her cereal, sing in the shower and make up our own song, dance while we wait for the lift.

The days are long but the years are short…(but read this awesome response to this old proverb…) and we all completely over estimate what we can achieve in a day and…blah, blah, blah we’ve heard it all before…

But then it’s so true. This life, this throw of the dice, we get to choose an awful lot, even if it doesn’t feel like it. We can choose to love or hate our crappy job. We can choose to love or hate our sick body…

Life has no meaning except that which we give it.

So, we write stories, even the far-out-est fantasy with Fairy-Dragon-Angels in Space. I write stories about women and Paris and then, afterwards, find out they are about regret and shame. This is how stories work. They reflect back at us how we see the world, more like fun-house mirrors than the bathroom variety.

I want to register an imprint name and today I’ve been wracking my brain to come up with a good one. I only want to publish my own works under the name but I want to to have legs in case I change my mind down the track. The ones I have come up with so far (that have already been swiped) are Five Sisters, Pen&Ink, Ink&Pen, Pen&Inc (waah – I really wanted this one!!!), Palm Tree (no surprises this one is taken!), Island City, City of Light and City Lights…this is getting really annoying…even bloody Lotus Flower is taken although it really wasn’t a contender – I thought of it in yoga… Maia, Arlo, Accent, Deja Vu, Three cats (!!), Elephant Tree…now this last one was just me being a goose…but there it was. I need a name!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!

…I think I’ve found one…watch this space!

This’ll make you think…or cry…

Of course your smart phone is fantastic – it’s all that’s left of your once bright future.

~ I heard Eric Weinstein say this or something very close on a podcast but have never been able to find it again. It could have been in conversation with Joe Rogan or Sam Harris. If anyone has any info on it, I’d love to hear it.
