Today I am tired. I always, always, bite off more than I can chew, burn the candle at both ends and keep my nose to the grindstone. So as the Christmas decorations begin to line the shelves of the discount department stores, I find myself a little ragged. Not that I am taking a break! I started #last90days, 9 days ago. I’ve set goals for this time and I am determined to achieve them.
So instead of giving up, I am going to rest and recuperate, review my habits and renew my commitment to myself. I’m not going to back away from any goals, I’m cleaning up my diet and going to bed earlier and spending more time writing instead of cruising websites and Pinterest for marketing tips! Gotta write the books before you can sell them, lady!
Part of this is dialling back a little on the self-development stuff – getting out of my head and spending more time in my body – doing. Remember the old adage of do, be, do, be do…? We have to ‘be’, then we ‘do’, then we ‘be’ again, then ‘do’. I’ve been so caught up in being that I’ve forgotten there is a reason why we are all embodied here and now.
So, I’m reverse engineering from my end goals; more writing published and feeling fantastic! My December goal is to nail a Pincha Mayurasana, a forearm handstand and I can’t do a pinchy if I keep eating chocolate! Keeping the end goal in mind sure helps to stay focused! Nothing tastes as good as yoga-fit feels!
I want anyone reading this to hold me accountable – I will post a picture of me doing a pinchy in December.

Some people dismiss astrology as superstitious nonsense and others say it’s somehow an affront to God. My opinion is that astrology and ‘star signs’ are two different things. As for God? I believe that whatever made me also made the most distant planets. I look at astrology as simply a way of personifying human traits and using the information to dig deeper into our human experience.
The Mercury Retrograde in the first half of the year helped me align with my goals but this Venus Retro has smacked me between the eyes. We’re being challenged right now to work out How We Give and Receive Love. If that’s not the most important thing in the world I’m not sure what it. When Mercury turns around we might have problems with our phones, but when Venus does it, it’s our relationships that are often in for repair or under the microscope. This is why I journal daily, to peek under the hood, so to speak.
When was the last time you stopped to think about what you think?
To quote Dr Michael Lennox, we all need to reach to the far edges of how we love. This is one of the most beautiful phrases I have ever read. So, on this new moon in Libra just as Venus turned, I release all that no longer serves me and “seek to radically alter how I relate to myself, to others and to the world around me“. I am not sure how anyone could say that message is somehow ungodly when it came from the heavens themselves.
(Check out Dr Michael Lennox on Facebook for his brilliant updates and guidance.)
