Where do you go to, my lovely

Where do you go to write or make your art? One of my favourite things to do is sit in a cafe and write, longhand, in a notebook. Maybe it’s a cliche but I get a lot of words down this way. It doesn’t have to be a moleskin or something fancy; a school writer is fine. The cheaper the better, but always recycled.

The notebook is already messy.

I’m feeling inspired. I went to see the Margaret Olley exhibition at GoMA today.

The entry feels like home, with its tongue and groove panelling and ornate archways.
Cressida Campbell painting of Margaret Olley’s studio in Sydney is the last piece in the show. It’s divine.

I dream of having a painting studio. At the Dream Job I had a space but it was dark and hot and a thoroughfare for staff and even clients who wanted to use the facilities. Not ideal.

At least I’m feeling inspired to paint again. I even bought a new sketchbook and everyone know you can never have too many sketchbooks.

Ahh Christine the words to a song going around my head now ‘where do you go my lovely .. and i think it goes ‘when your alone in your bed’ – cant remember anything else or who sings it but will have to look it up now 🙄. Good to hear your painting again 🙏
