Thought for the day…

During my seated meditation (quiet, focus on the breath entering and leaving my nose) tonight a single thought wafted in and out. It left me a little breathless actually. The aptness of it. I probably first came across this idea while watching The Big Bang Theory. I get my science from that show and my philosophy 101 from The Good Place. I’m happy to admit that 🤣

The thought for tonight was ‘electrons behave differently when they are being observed’. I was left wondering if that is the power of meditation, the observation? That observing the breath is what causes the shifts that always come with a regular meditation practice? Perhaps this is why seated practice seems to be the hardest thing to do.

Listening to Russell Brand’s interview with John McEvoy this morning, Russell asked John right at the end if he meditates. He said he did not and Russ enthused about how great it is. I’m paraphrasing but this is the gist of what he said. It made me snort.

Get into it, mate, and come back in five years and we’ll have a completely different conversation. You’ll be robed up and I’ll just be a beard and a ball of light by then’
