don’t give up your daydream

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before….

You and I were born to do more than just pay bills and die.

Seriously, who the fuck came up with this mess we call society. Insert rant here about the oppression of the masses blah blah blah…

…but if you earn more than US$32,000 per year, you are in the 1%! We are oppressed (by the stupid society around us) and the oppressors at the same time. We’re so lucky to have all we have but then we make a golden prison for ourselves with our desires.

We could have created anything and we chose this?

The Minimalists put out this tweet today.

I responded thusly

And they liked my tweet ☺️I feel special and stupid at the same time.

I love these guys. They are saying it like it is. So many of us, and I’ve done it numerous times, think we need to uproot and disrupt the major things in our lives like our job and where we live, but the truth is we need to make those small, but daily changes to the way we live.

It’s hard to push ourselves outside our comfort zone. It’s comfortable there. Outside the comfort zone is growth and challenge but also DISCOMFORT!

People laugh at us and make us feel bad for wanting a better life. My niece is saving to travel and her family is laughing at her and telling her she can’t do it. That’s really shitty, guys. I’m trying to support her to counteract their meanness a little. I know it’s only their fear talking. Okay, maybe it’s their ignorance and a lot of poverty mentality too.

We have bills to pay and work to do but we also have to LIVE!

Later – a few hours after writing this I had a conversation with a friend about exactly this – little changes, not grand upheaval. I love synchronicity!
